Intro to Bricklaying (Masonry)

Summary
This course covers the fundamental techniques and practices involved in building brick walls, steps, corners, chimneys, and other masonry structures. Emphasis is placed on the correct use of the mason’s trowel, level, plumb line, and tape measure, along with proper material handling and layout methods.
Students will develop practical skills through hands‑on projects in a controlled lab environment, reinforcing safe work habits and jobsite safety procedures. Upon completion, students will have gained foundational masonry skills applicable to entry‑level construction settings.

Requirements
Students need to attend class with clothing appropriate for work within a shop setting, including adequate fitting clothing and closed toe shoes.
