Enrollment Policy

Registration & Refund Policies Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that submitting a registration through this system does not automatically guarantee enrollment; a seat is only secured once payment is processed and an official confirmation is issued.

  • Attendance: Only registered students are permitted in classrooms. Substitutions are not allowed, and non-registered guests may not attend classes.

100% Refund Eligibility:

  • A student who officially withdraws prior to the first class meeting.

  • If a class is cancelled by the college due to insufficient enrollment.

75% Refund Eligibility:

  • After a class begins, a 75% refund may be issued upon written request if the student officially withdraws on or before the census date of the scheduled class hours.

  • Note: In this circumstance, only class fees are refundable. Technology, malpractice, accident, drug testing, and testing fees are non-refundable.

Non-Refundable Fees:

  • Registration fees for self-supporting classes are non-refundable once the class begins.

Deceased Student Refund:

  • In the event a student passes away during the semester (prior to or on the last day of examinations), all registration fees paid for that semester may be refunded to the student’s estate.

Withdrawal & Refund Policy

Self-Supporting Tuition and Fees - The College shall provide a one hundred percent (100%) refund to the student for both tuition and fees if the student officially withdraws or is officially withdrawn by the College prior to the first day of class. The College shall provide a one hundred percent (100%) refund to the student for both tuition and fees if the college cancels the class. No refunds for tuition and fees will be given if the student officially withdraws on the first day of class or thereafter.
• Refunds are automatically processed by the Cashier's Office for all courses canceled by Pitt Community College. The College may refund registration fees under the following
circumstances:
• If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, the student will receive a 100% refund.
• If a student officially withdraws from an Occupational Extension (OE) class
prior to the first class session, the student will receive a 100% refund.
• After an OE class begins and a student officially withdraws from the class prior to or by the 10% point of the scheduled hours, the student will receive a 75% refund.

* * This refund is limited to the registration fee and does not include accident insurance, liability insurance, textbooks, or supplies. To officially withdraw for a refund, students must sign a refund form on or before the 10% point of the class. Call 252-493-7388 for more information.
